Yeah! Daddy's home. At least for two weeks. We are all so happy to spend some time with Chris before he has to head back to Iraq and finish out his deployment. I put him to work right away setting up the waterslide for the boys. We also had a blast going to Dallas and watching the Rangers play baseball, going to six flags and lounging in the hotel. This time has rejuvenated us to endure the remaider of Chris's deployment.

Easter 2009
This spring has been so beautiful, and we decided to spend the Easter holiday with Nana, Papa, and Uncle David. The boys enjoyed coloring and hunting eggs. We went to an Easter egg hunt at Shawna's in-laws, and then also found the eggs that the Easter bunny hid. Uncle David took us to a little carnival in Cleveland and won some cool prizes for the boys. It was a wonderful weekend.
Spring Break
Elaine, John and family came here to Texas for a little vacation over spring break. That was fun having them here to laugh and play with. The boys loved playing football, going to the zoo, and going to six flags. Peyton met the six flags guy and just loved dancing with him. It is always such a gift to have family close.
IT'S RODEO TIME!
Peyton participated in his first school production. The kids spent the week learning about Texas, cowboys, rodeo and SQUARE DANCING! He had so much fun dosey-doeing and spinning round and round. He has gone country in a big way, and not just any type of country, but Texas style country.

Here he is, in all his body armored glory! Chris had this picture taken for me so that I could show you all him playing golf in his combat ready form. I thought it was funny, but he doesn't actually have to wear it while he and his buddies drive a few golf balls into the Iraqi dessert. It is just one of the ways that Chris likes to spend his free time while stationed in Iraq. He enjoys playing cards on Saturday nights, going on runs in the morning, reading books, and watching the occational movie: time permitting. Time is slowly passing, but passing none the less. We look forward to the day when he will come home for his two-week R&R. The boys mention it almost every day.
